UPDATE: 03.31.2013 ARC Approved! Yeaaaahhh! :) Will read it after my CR. :)

HOLY… OMFG. OMG. OMG. WOW. Review to follow I guess. But… but… Arrrrggghhh!

I still can’t get over this book! This sequel is so good, in my opinion. Lots of action, gore, emotions, the story… Just… Oh God. I thought I wouldn’t see Zeke anymore in this book. Since in the first book, The Immortal Rules, they separate ways. Allie looking for Kanin and Zeke staying in Eden.

I love how Allie stayed true to her nature. I mean, she’s this stubborn girl that if she set her mind on doing something, give her word, she’ll do the best she could to do it. She set out looking for Kanin when she started having those nightmares/visions about what Kanin is feeling currently while being held against his wish by Sarren. That Psycho Vamp. >:(

Reading through what Sarren was doing to Kanin or reading what Kanin is feeling about that… It breaks my heart. I wish Sarren just ended Kanin right there and then. But of course it cannnot be like that. >.<

Hang in there, Kanin, I thought. I’ll find you, I swear. I’m catching up.

And you know, Jackal reminds me of Puck. Well, maybe just because of the sarcastic comments. I don’t like him in the first book. But here… I think I’m gradually liking him. >.< I don’t think he’s that bad. There’s still some goodness somewhere within him. I won’t give up on him. Hopefully, I won’t be disappointed in the next book.

And that last part of the book. OMG. I did not see that happen. I HATE STICK. Allie should have let him die a long time ago. :/ Now I can NOT wait for the third book. I wanna know what happen cause I REFUSE to believe that that recording is REAL. NO it is NOT. Read the last part of Epilogue.

I believe he’s still there. HE IS. I refuse to acknowledge that that happen. >.< Noooo… And Allie. OMG. Don’t succumb to the inner monster! Nooooooooo… Don’t. Please. Don’t. But I do understand her on why she’s doing that. :(

Oh boy. I need the third installment pronto! >.< I love this book! It’s just right for all the parts to be there. The way it was delivered, perfect. The characters… It is so perfect, I hate Sarren, I feel the pain of the characters. I started to like Jackal. I hate Stick, ungrateful bastard, he is.

I was crying when I finished reading that recording part. :( I imagined what is happening. The torture… OMFG. >_< KUDOS to JULIE KAGAWA!!!

Read: Indigo Awakening by Jordan Dane {ARC}

BLURB:

Because of what you are, the Believers will hunt you down.

Voices told Lucas Darby to run. Voices no one else can hear. He’s warned his sister not to look for him, but Rayne refuses to let her troubled brother vanish on the streets of LA. In her desperate search, she meets Gabriel Stewart, a runaway with mysterious powers and far too many secrets. Rayne can’t explain her crazy need to trust the strange yet compelling boy—to touch him—to protect him even though he scares her.

A fanatical church secretly hunts psychic kids—gifted “Indigo” teens feared to be the next evolution of mankind—for reasons only “the Believers” know. Now Rayne’s only hope is Gabe, who is haunted by an awakening power—a force darker than either of them imagine—that could doom them all.

Review:

Hmmm… The story is pretty good. The way it was delivered was okay. I mean, it’s not that confusing even though it keeps on changing the POV. It is just necessary for the story. I think it’s just that… I am not sure Rayne should be the heroine. LOL. Er. Maybe it’s just cause of too many POVs.

Okay… thinking about it, it does sounds confusing. Indigo Awakening was, I believe, labeled as a Dystopian. But not really. Okay, not that much. Indigo kids are a bunch of kids who are psychics. And then there’s this church (why church? because they are hybrids? I mean, they are not made by experimenting…) who are hunting the Indigo or Crystal children.

The way it was written let us see what was inside of their minds. Rayne is a normal kid. Lucas, her brother is an Indigo kid. Gabriel is a Crystal child. A much more hybrid than Indigo. It all comes back to Gabriel. The story mostly was all about him. The others were just uh… side story.

He got lots of secrets. Which he kept for self-preservation. And goodness, I only realised his connection with the church after 90%! LOL. I am that slow on picking things like that. :P

So… I’ll give this 2.5 for the way it was delivered, 3.5 for the story and 3 for capturing my attention after the 5th chapter. That’ll be 3 stars. :)

Review:

I believe in Angels. And yes, Demons too. I still believe in my Guardian Angel even though I’m old enough for people to make fun of me believing them. But I do and I still pray at night, you know the kid’s prayer:

Angel of God, my Guardian dear, to whom His love commits me here, ever this day (or night) be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.

I still pray that at night and I can’t sleep if I didn’t plus I get monsters in my dreams if I forgot to pray to my Guardian Angel. So you might be wondering why the heck am I telling all this things to you in my review?

Well, A Shimmer of Angels is about a girl who could see Angels and Demons. But the people around her thought that they are not real. There’s no Angels or wings for that matter and she was taken straight to the loony bin. She was there for 3 years. Going in and out of the Mental Health Clinic. They thought she was insane, heck she thought she’s losing it when she saw them yet again after months of being clear.

For the first part, I was a bit annoyed because of the MC talking to herself over and over and over again that she wouldn’t go back to that place and that she can’t slip up cause she knew her dad would throw her back to that MHC if he see some sign that might lead to being crazy again. And when she met Cam, ugh, she became doubly crazy. LOL. BUT it gets better, in my opinion and totally worth it.

I have all these questions in my mind that were not answered in the end but it left me craving for more. I want to know what would happen to the next book. I keep on thinking that she’s a half-angel or something since it was what I read over the past Angel books I’ve read and that’s it for the twist. But I don’t know if I am wrong since Basso didn’t tell me anything about it to solidify what I suspect instead she gave me another thing to thought of.

I can’t say that I’m surprised at what happened to Ray at the latter part of the book and having that… I wanna know more so bad. I want to know more about her mother and what was the relationship her mother and Kade had.

Oh, I want Kade for her. Cause Cam is still an Angel and I don’t think he is determined, if ever to Fall for Ray. So I want Kade!!! Kade is the bad boy we girls love. Say NO to good boys. LOL. :p
